Job Description
The Cashier is responsible for the security of the customer service/cashier area. This position performs general office duties including daily filing, processing appeals, scanning ADA documentation, and bills of sale into accounts. This position balances cash drawer and transactions by reconciling cash, credit card, Razorbucks, student accounts, and departmental payments for citation collection and permit sales with collection reports. The Cashier ensures parking permits are properly issued to authorized customers and citation payments are properly processed; assists in training of new employees in cashiering duties; informs the supervisor of suggestions from customers; and maintains daily permit inventory, bringing any discrepancies to supervisor’s attention and resolving or documenting issue.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience in customer service, clerical work, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
* At least two years of cashier experience
* At least one year of customer service experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Knowledge of bookkeeping and record keeping practices
* Knowledge of standard office practices
* Knowledge of basic mathematics
* Ability to research files, verify information, and complete forms and applications
* Ability to calculate taxes, fees, and penalties
* Ability to operate standard office equipment
* Ability to compile data, prepare reports, and maintain files
