Summary of Job Duties:The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the level of assistant professor in mechanical engineering beginning in Fall 2023. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering;

  • MS and PhD (All but Dissertation acceptable) in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.

Preferred credentials:

  • Expertise in engineering software, such as Solidworks, Autocad, Ansys, Ansys Fluent;

  • Experience in teaching engineering courses. Experience in teaching in a hybrid or on-line environment;

  • Post-doctoral or industrial experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering and advanced graduate courses in their research area;

  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students;

  • Supervise graduate research projects;

  • Serve on program, school, college, and university committees; and engage in other service and research activities;

  • Establish and maintain an externally funded research program that includes the support of graduate and undergraduate students;

  • Participate in assessment for program improvement and ABET accreditation;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of thermal systems or mechanical systems, with research interest in their area of expertise and the ability to collaborate with existing faculty.
