Each candidate will work in a group environment and assist with other ongoing lab research, professional development and outreach activities. Each candidate will also be responsible for conducting their own research project required to complete their graduate degree. Selected students must always maintain high scientific and academic ethical standards while representing the Lab Group, Department, and UAPB.
The selected candidates will be given the opportunity to learn field and benchtop techniques in their focus area (Nutrition, Reproductive physiology, or Fish Health). Our goal is to provide each candidate with an opportunity to become well-rounded, competitive aquaculture biologists.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain good academic standing throughout the course of study
Assist with ongoing Research, Professional development, and outreach activities
Assist with the upkeep and husbandry of experimental fish.
Conduct research as a part of the requirement for their graduate degree.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications - The applicant must possess a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in aquaculture, fisheries, agriculture, natural resources, or a related scientific discipline. The applicant must have a minimum GPA during the Junior and Senior years of 3.0 or better on a 4-point scale. The applicant must also have a minimum GRE score of 291 (Combined Quantitative & Verbal).
The applicant must be a US citizen or National.
Preferred Qualifications - Students who are under-represented in the field of Aquaculture.

Research Assistantship: The Graduate Student will receive a stipend of $18,800 annually for two years. The student will be responsible for paying their tuition. All graduate students receive an in-state tuition waiver.
