uada.eduSummary of Job Duties:This position is a 12-month 100% Extension appointment at the University of Arkansas. Relevant expertise for this position includes agricultural cash and futures markets, price risk management using forward contracting and hedging, value added commodity marketing, and assisting in enhancing the agriculture industry's understanding of financial management.

The successful candidate will work closely with faculty in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness to develop a program of extension in one or more of these areas, regularly publishing in relevant extension outlets and farm journals, presenting to stakeholder audiences, and maintaining a newsletter with contributions from extension faculty led by the Program Associate.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in a related area of study plus three (3) years of related professional experience OR a Master's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

M.S. in Agricultural Economics or a closely related field.

Skills & Knowledge

Candidates should be knowledgeable and experienced in the following subject matter areas: futures and options markets, cash markets, risk management, commodity marketing, and financial management. Excellent writing skills and the ability to present market information to stakeholders is also essential. Familiarity in the basic Microsoft Office suite is required, while preference will be given to those with familiarity in statistical software packages such as R and Stata.
