It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in a natural resources-related field, with at least one degree in forestry or forest management.
Preferred Qualifications
Extension/outreach experience and expertise in ecology, silviculture, forest health, spatial analysis, wildlife habitat management, and/or forest economics is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate to a wide audience in social media, publications, and presentations and the capability to create a research program that addresses issues in forest management. Ability and desire to collaborate with faculty from the Cooperative Extension Service, Agriculture Experiment Station, and College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Arkansas at Monticello is essential. Candidates should desire developing educational programs for forest landowners, natural resources professionals, county Extension Agents, and 4-H youth. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license. Must meet the requirements to be a registered forester in Arkansas before or after employment.
