Department:OPS | Hospitality Patient Ambassadors

Summary of Job Duties:**Position is considered Essential Personnel**

The Patient Ambassador reports to the Supervisor of Hospitality Services and provides staffing for the multiple family hospitality services provided by the Department. Hospitality Services functions include staffing of the Hospital Information Desks, ICU Waiting Room desks, NICU desk, PRI Information Desks, PACU Dept., Cart Drivers, Discharge Lobby Desk, Outside Greeters, One Day Surgery desk, Cancer Institute after hours desk and a Concierge.Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Experience in support/hospitality role and customer service in a hospital setting.
  • Must be able to work during Inclement Weather
  • Must be able to work rotating Weekends and Holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients/families with a positive, customer-focused and appropriate manner, providing directions and information, helping find patient locations and otherwise assisting visitors.
  • Staffs Information desks in the assigned areas.
  • Staffs the intensive care units, working with nursing to provide guidance and enforcement of the visitation policies for those units.
  • Drive the courtesy cart along the prescribed route picking up and assisting patients and families who need help in getting to their destinations.
  • Assist patients into and out of cars as they arrive and depart the hospital.
  • Recognize patients and visitors in need of assistance and approach and fulfill the patient's needs.
  • Monitor and maintain visitor waiting areas as assigned.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
