www.uada.eduSummary of Job Duties:The Program Associate - Soil Fertility will be responsible for implementing the goals and objectives of the Extension soil fertility programs to improve the understanding of soil fertility, nutrient management, and forage crop management for hay and pasture production.

The Program Associate will operate in an independent, decision-making role in the planning and execution of the soil fertility program. Work objectives are coordinated with Dr. Bronc Finch (Supervisor), but implementation will be primarily the responsibility of the Program Associate.

The Program Associate will be expected to communicate and collaborate with extension and research faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders as needed to effectively contribute to the goals and objectives of the extension soil fertility program.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field plus three (3) years of related professional experience, OR a related Master's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field is preferred. Experience background in forage crop or pasture lands management and/or soil fertility nutrient management experience. Experience with data collection in agricultural settings, data analysis, coordinating with County Agricultural Agents, Extension Specialists, Researchers, and farmers is preferred.

Current Arkansas Pesticide Application License. Current FAA part107 Remote Pilot License. Experience operating and maintaining equipment, with the ability to repair equipment upon failure, is preferred. Leadership experience, motivation, and creativity are desirable traits as well.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Good written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. The person hired for this position must be able to work outside during sunny conditions and wintry conditions. Ability to travel, with the potential of long working hours that may include occasional overnight stays.

Ability and willingness to secure and maintain an Arkansas Pesticide Application License and FAA part 107 Remote Pilot License. Commitment to fostering a diverse, collaborative, and collegial work environment.

Preferred ability to develop and deliver quality presentations. Exercise initiative sound judgment, and work without close supervision while maintaining the ability to respond to the needs of supervisors, subordinates, and clientele.
