Job Description

The Business Development Specialist will act as the HUNTER of new prospects for the sales team. The position will source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls, social outreach and emails. Qualified opportunities will be funneled to the appropriate sales teams for further development and closure. This position reports to the SVP of Sales.

Job Duties:

  • Proactively HUNT for new prospects who are open to having Westrock Coffee compete for their coffee, tea, flavors, ingredients and extracts business.
  • Develop prospect lists
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls, emails and social media
  • Present Westrock to potential clients
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and other sales team members
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services
  • Responsible for meeting annual goals.
  • Maintains and cultivates a direct line of communication with leadership about progress with target accounts, sales activity, potential opportunities and competitive information.
  • Promotes a professional image of Westrock Coffee, Inc. in all involvement with internal personnel, customers, suppliers, and competition.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience in cold calling business development.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques
  • Thrives on achieving quotas and closing sales.
  • Ability handle rejection with ease; not allowing it to affect continued performance
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Hubspot)
  • Proficiency with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • A proven pleasantly aggressive self-starter that can stay organized and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
  • Professional appearance
  • BS degree in Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field OR HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse levels within a corporation and to provide consultative expertise and leadership.
