The Bank Operations Specialist I, as a member of the Operation's Team that supports the Lockbox processing for all bank's transaction channels, is responsible for performing a wide variety of bank operational duties in a high volume deadline driven environment. The Bank Operations Specialist I interacts with various bank personnel while serving as a resource agent for all deposit operational areas, and assisting in the verification of processes and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process business customer payments utilizing automated lockbox systems
  • Open, sort, copy, and balance mail payments daily by customer specifications and prearranged times set with lockbox customers
  • Confirm daily deposit information with lockbox customers via telephone, e-mail and/or fax/scan
  • Reconcile all out-of-balance deposits
  • Verify daily lockbox processing is complete
  • Scan invoices, checks and check stubs
  • Upload files on secure FTP sites for customers to review and retrieve
  • Process mail delivered from a lockbox to customer accounts, and distribute Post Office mail to internal customers at the Simmons Tower
  • Scan and balance large customer deposits on Branch Capture device.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required
  • Minimum of one year lockbox or proof experience preferred
  • MS Office programs experience in Excel and Word preferred
  • Experience with Image technology equipment such as a branch capture device, vertex teller capture scanner, desktop scanner, letter opening machine and OPEX mail extractor preferred
