Summary of Job Duties:We are seeking a Preschool Teacher III to join our Head Start/Early Head Start program. Candidates should be passionate about providing young children with the skills and socialization they need to succeed. In this role, you will develop educational lessons and oversee activities that incorporate colors, shapes, and music.Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate Degree, Major Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Consumer Science, or related field. BA degree with a CDA, Child Care Orientation Training or at least 6 early childhood credit hours
  • Computer program proficiency level: Intermediate plus one (1) year experience Early Childhood Education or related field.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning, both through physical classroom materials and instructional activities.
  • Implement approved regular goals while utilizing techniques necessary to motivate learning in small children.
  • Makes regular assessments of instructional materials for the classroom and communicates the need for replacement or repair as needed.
  • Supervises students in all activities both inside and outside the classroom. Ensures that everything is in place in case of your absence. Identifies achievement levels of each student and provides ongoing evaluation of progress.
  • Identify and access behavioral concerns requiring the involvement of program resource staff.
  • Establishes and maintains continuous communication between parents and staff. Encourages parent involvement to increase literacy skills and classroom participation.
  • Become thoroughly knowledgeable of all required program standards and regulations and adhere to same.
  • Participate in school-sponsored activities; attend faculty staff meetings as required. Maintains all required documentation.
  • Maintains the child/staff ratio.
