TITLE: OFS Technician OOT

LOCATION: Midland,TX

POSITION REPORTS TO: OFS Manager
WAGES: Commensurate with experience
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some overtime and weekends may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The OFS Technician will maintain and troubleshoot electronic equipment, control systems, pump systems and computers used in Oilfield operations. Primary responsibilities include preforming intermediate to advanced tests, troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and repairs on electronic and electro-mechanical equipment at field locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform regular and scheduled maintenance on OFS equipment to ensure equipment remains in good working order
  • Perform repairs on equipment as needed in the field using hand and power tools
  • Installation and configuration of electronic, pumps and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components
  • Travel to locations to perform emergency repairs on equipment
  • Diagnose electrical problems and troubleshoot how to correct them using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary
  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions
  • Performs preventative maintenance on instrumentation and maintains preventative maintenance record
  • Provides technical support in the form of operator training on electronic equipment
  • Test equipment at Manufacturer's facility to ensure that equipment meets company standards prior to being dispatched to the field
  • Document repairs, inspections, and testing for all equipment
  • Maintain a safe work environment following all QHSE requirements at all times
  • Mentor and train less experienced Electronic Technicians. Perform other related duties as requested
  • Other tasks or projects as assigned by manager

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3yrs position related experience
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Proficient use of electronic test instruments and tools
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation such as flow meters, pumps, and controllers
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Proficient use of OEM software used to configure and troubleshoot related equipment; preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical schematics/drawings
  • Proficient knowledge of data transmission protocols and equipment networking
  • Radio Communications
  • Must be able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel overnight
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operations instructions and policies/procedures and communicate this information effectively
  • Ability to write reports and simple correspondence and effectively communicate/present information to groups of coworkers, customers, or members of the management team
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to perform component troubleshooting
  • Ability to understand and apply basic electrical theory and circuit principles
  • Working together in a positive team environment
  • Ability to promote safety awareness, follow policies & procedures on quality, health, safety & environment
  • This position may be required to complete a functional test quantifying the physical requirements for the essential functions of the position
  • Employee must be physically able to perform all essential job functions required in this position, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Normally work outside at field locations in all weather conditions or in a shop environment
  • May be required to lift objects weighing 50 pounds
  • May be required to wear or use a respirator
  • Position may be subject to OSHA Medical Surveillance under 29 CFR 1910.1053
