Seeking 1st shift supervisor - 5am-3:30pm, Mon-Thurs, with occasional Fridays/Saturdays

Summary

Production Supervisor is responsible for direct daily leadership of teammates, focusing on core operational values of safety, quality, cost management with a focus on our customer.  The Supervisor shall ensure safe and efficient production, managing, directing, and training teammates to ensure that all products are produced to the specified requirements, and that all daily targets and deadlines are achieved.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in and supports the Haldex Way and Lean Manufacturing principles creating and maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Full responsibility of monitoring all operations, processes, and teammates to ensure and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company polices, rules and regulations. Investigates and reports incidents, accidents and unsafe work conditions or actions, taking action to mitigate risk and where possible eliminate.
  • Leads and facilitates LDMS (Lean Daily Management System)
  • Establish strong teammate relations, at all levels, aligning activities to support hourly/daily objectives. Assigns duties, and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to Haldex standards. Leading, coaching and mentoring teammates.
  • Set priority for resources on shift, planning, coordinating, and directing in real time production to Haldex quality, productivity, and service KPIs. Ensuring schedule attainment, production volume and labor utilization. This will include adjusting work schedules and hours to achieve production targets and meet customer demand.
  • Use problem solving tools to identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve product and process non conformances, scrap, and machine downtime.
  • Participates in the hiring, conducts, manages, coordinates, and monitors teammate training, performance, productivity, and development. Complete impartial performance appraisals and recommendations for promotions and/or wage increases.
  • Responsible for maintaining and approving timekeeping records and managing time off requests while balancing production needs.
  • Must adapt to a flexible schedule including other shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.  Will be expected to be flexible in terms of hours per day or last-minute changes to personal schedule.
  • Conduct and assist in first level maintenance, ensure preventative maintenance and equipment repairs are completed as needed and assist in material handling.

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent and/or 5-7 years related work experience preferred,
  • 2 or more years’ experience preferred in direct daily supervision, in a production driven environment
  • 1 year of experience managing production schedules preferred,
  • Proficient with Microsoft Programs and Enterprise Systems
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Experienced in training and coaching others.
  • Well organized, good time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Good written and verbal skills
    • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Must be dependable, trustworthy, and have good attendance habits.
  • Works well with others and demonstrate respect for self and others.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Experienced with material handling equipment, Forklifts, manlifts and order pickers.
  • Experience in Semi-Automation, conveyors, Robotics, PLC’s preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to machinery with moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the environment is not normally quiet.
