Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor will have proven experience in all facets of manufacturing maintenance to support sustainable production as well as new model and/or new equipment introduction when required. He/She must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect part quality, production efficiency, work cell ergonomics, equipment maintenance, etc. The successful candidate will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Direct leadership of the maintenance crews covering a 24/7 operating capability
  • Responsibility for execution of departmental goals and plans and eventual delivery of departmental goals and KPIs within the set timelines.
  • Responsibility for manpower management: day to day line support, in-house repair work, vacation, OT & weekend work scheduling
  • Defining daily tasks and setting directions for the team
  • Interaction with Production, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, warehousing, HR and other business Groups and /or stakeholders
  • Adhering to, ensuring, cultivating and maintaining a strict compliance culture (safety, quality , ethical and regulatory ) within the department and by extension the business
  • Standard development and creation of procedures and methods
  • Project management: both internal maintenance projects, and minor contractor projects
  • Procedures & PMs, develop & maintain proper documentation of all necessary procedures; periodic maintenance tasks; equipment changes (electrical, spare parts upgrades, mechanical), etc.
  • Assist with budget development and reporting
  • Maintain spare parts inventory. Identify and order needed parts, maintain tracking system
  • Training and administration of training of maintenance associates to support production requirements.
  • Daily review over direct staff work order completions and closures
  • Daily shift report out to Maintenance leadership
  • Provide daily support to maintenance staff in troubleshooting and critical decision making
  • Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
  • Employ, supervise and train workers.
  • Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance work.
  • Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
  • Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
  • Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance / equipment management / leadership role in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) environment
  • 5+ years of extensive and proven experience with troubleshooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance - breakdowns and failures.
  • 5+ years' experience in maintaining and providing asset care ( As Good As New philosophy) to equipment in foods manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of fast speed liquid filling (bottling and canning) in a large automated established is critical.
  • 5+ years' experience in maintaining fast moving equipment especially retorts, depalletisers ,EBIs , fillers , FBIs , cappers , seamers , cartoners ,laser coders , palletizers and other online equipment is critical
  • 5+ years in development of maintenance plans including but not limited to: RCM,TPM, Predictive, Preventative, and Proactive approaches.
  • Experience in team building, coaching and succession planning for technical and engineering personal
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience within a department is a plus
  • Lean manufacturing skills and systems development
  • Certification in electrician and /or boiler operation
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in the development CMMS systems (Experience in FIIX and NetSuite is a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Availability to work the off shifts
  • Strong mechanical knowledge
  • Strong electrical and controls knowledge
  • Experience in team building, coaching and succession planning for technical and engineering personal
