Mission/Purpose of the Job:

To support operations with delivering pumps, subassemblies, handling units and materials for production cells to enable a smooth production flow.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the handling equipment is safe and maintained before being used (is responsible for a pre-equipment check).

  • Is responsible for checking for any damaged or missing parts on stock, pumps or WIP goods and raising issues for any abnormality on SIM board. Responsible for preparation of pump, WIP goods and inventory correctly, maintaining an accurate inventory and count of materials in line side locations. Helps resolve inventory discrepancies and supports efficiencies in material movements. area.

  • Handles nonconforming parts from zones to quarantine.

  • Is responsible for supplying pumps , WIP goods and inventory, in the right amount, at the right time, in the right place, and with the proper orientation, and handling documents necessary in line with pull system. Works to a defined route and timing in the workshop.

  • Ensures correct quantity of WIP within the spots.

  • Plans parts.

  • Manages service order status update in SAP.

  • Highlights and proposes improvements to task routes and takes part in QRQC.

  • Obeys and implements VTPS rules/standards.

Scope of the job:

  • The function of this role is to ensure the flow of parts, subassemblies/modules, handling units and pumps to and between zones ensuring the workshop meets output targets and customer demand.

  • Must be trained and competant in safe manual handling.

  • Anticipates demand through detailed process knowledge and experience eliminates stoppages or delays affecting the flow thru cells.

  • Extensive interaction between zones and other departments.

  • Highlights and acts when stock levels are too high or too low and proposes revisions to bin sizes.

  • Can stand in for other team member (workshop tech) and repair products.

  • Ensures all workshop accompanying documentation is present and correct.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Secondary education/Certificate of Diploma in technical field of studies

  • 3 years' min experience in a production environment. Knowledge of inventory control and or process flow of a manufacturing environment (e.g. KANBAN, LEAN principles). Able to operate at senior level, including manager level

  • Must be PC literate and be able to use windows driven software.

  • Able to read technical documentation and write basic in English is desirable. Good communication skills.

  • st be able to operate material handling equipment such as cranes, forklift or equivalent handling equipment. Follow verbal and written work instructions.
