Minimum Qualifications or Competencies (Essential for the job - the applicant must have at the time of hire) Basic competency include but are not limited to education, experience, licensed require, or physical requirements.

• Master's Degree in nursing
• Acute Care Certification
• 3 years nursing experience
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License

• Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process in the assessment and identification of patient/family long and short term physical, psychosocial, educational and cultural needs for assigned patient populations.
• Provides ongoing and follow-up care and patient/family education.
• Accurately interprets health assessment data and applies findings in directing patient care.
• Utilizes knowledge and expertise when planning long and short-term care, including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments as needed.
• Prioritizes patient/family needs to optimize the health outcome in a cost efficient manner.
• Documents all health data and plan of care and care according to policy.
• Evaluates patient/family response to the plan of care through systematic follow-up.
• Documentation of the patient/family outcomes, reassessing and modifying the plan as needed to achieve health goals.
• Accurately completes all billing forms, including diagnostic (ICD-10) and treatment (CPT) codes, based on federal and state laws and UAMS policy.
• Communicates with referring physicians, allied health providers and hospital staff as appropriate.
• Assures universal screenings for alcohol use on all injured patients and provides interventions for those patients screening positive research.
• Actively participates in quality improvement activities (i.e., collecting data, suggesting and implementing approved changes and measuring outcomes) and the development of strategies to im prove patient care delivery and cost effectiveness.
• Critically evaluates existing practice in light of current research findings.
• Disseminates relevant research findings through practice, publication, education and/or consultation.
