ualr.edu/trojanworksSummary of Job Duties:The Extra Help Assistant/Trojan Works Student Workers serve in various roles across campus as Institutional Work-Study (IWS) student workers. Specific duties are designated by the department hiring supervisor to include but are not limited to customer service, answering phones, and clerical work. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. This position is a provisional appointment with UA Little Rock and is funded through a grant or contract. Annual position renewal is contingent upon continued grant funding and satisfactory job performance.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Degree-seeking UA Little Rock students enrolled in classes at the time of application;

  • Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;

  • Must be ineligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS);

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer paper-pencil and computer-based exams

  • Serve as a resource to other departments and students regarding testing program information, scoring, policy, and procedure

  • Administrative duties, including greeting visitors and answering phones

  • Serve as an assistant to the Director and Administrative Specialist IIIs

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Testing Services


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines regarding ACT 504/ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)

  • Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of the FERPA Privacy Act

  • Knowledge of computer-based test administration and procedures for a variety of exams

  • Knowledge of general office procedures

  • Demonstrate flexibility within the work environment

  • Consistently make mature, common-sense decisions based on current and/or available knowledge

  • Demonstrate high quality customer service

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English by writing, listening, and speaking with faculty, administration, staff, students, and families to provide information, policy interpretation, recommended course of action, and communication of sensitive or confidential information

  • Demonstrate ingenuity and creativity with the ability to invent and problem solve

  • Display ambition, confidence, and leadership

  • Value a high degree of contact with students and the learning environment

  • Work well independently, as a team member, and in large group settings
