Summary of Job Duties:The role of the Security Operation Center Analyst needs to be comfortable in a small to medium enterprise size environment capable of reviewing, remediation, and relaying relevant information to the end user based on security concerns. The Security Operations Center Analyst must be capable of independent work and minimal oversight. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with end users and team members. The individual will also be capable of independent work and minimal oversight. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate Degree or higher and/or two (2) years of equivalent work experience.


Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience managing small to medium sized networks;

  • Experience planning and designing and deploying a highly redundant network;

  • Experience working with vendors, IT partners, and various technical staff members to drive small to large projects to conclusion.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Security Operations Center Analyst must have situational awareness on potential threat vectors;and ability to effectively use security applications to resolve threats to the network;

  • Analyze a variety of network and host-based security logs (firewalls, syslog, defender);

  • Assist with the resolution of security-related software and firmware to maintain security;

  • Manually escalates threats based on the security level;

  • Monitor and troubleshoot antivirus;

  • Report security alerts to the appropriate channels;

  • Provide security advice to clients who had a security threat;

  • The SOC will need to Identify, research, analyze, and relay threat solution information to the end user based on security concerns.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Accurately type and enter data into spreadsheets, work assignment systems, and web-basedportals;

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;

  • Strong individual time management skills;

  • Perform unsupervised tasks in a timely manner;

  • Understand and follow instructions, procedural documentation, and equipmentand user guides;

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
