Minimum Requirements
A formal high school diploma.
Preferred Education and or Experience
Significant secondary coursework in business or communications.
Job Duties
Engage with prospective entrepreneurs to answer questions about starting a business and business planning;
Utilize ASBTDC tools and resources to prepare pre-venture entrepreneurs to communicate their business ideas better;
Support the day-to-day activities of customer intake and assist walk-in customers with small business questions;
Contact event attendees by phone and email to determine if additional assistance is needed and answer questions;
Contact event no-shows by phone and email to answer questions or provide assistance;
Contact event registrants by phone before events to encourage attendance;
Direct clients to the appropriate ASBTDC resources;
Support organizational marketing activities;
Confirm that eCenter signups have been contacted promptly;
Document all activities per ASBTDC documentation procedures;
Other duties as assigned in order to accomplish the goals and mission of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to communicate extensively with business owners by telephone, zoom, and in person;
Must adhere to the University System and ASBTDC Conflict of Interest standards;
Must maintain confidentiality;
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills;
Ability to follow detailed written instructions;
Ability to work at the ASBTDC office 4-5 days a week 4-5 hours per day during business hours (8am to 5pm);
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
