- Directly supervises and leads a group of engineers and designers, including monitoring performance, coaching and mentoring, disciplinary actions and assuring a high level of work quality.
- Set direct reports' work priorities to align with departmental priorities and support departmental workflow commitments.
- Participates in developing Transmission Engineering department strategies and executes strategy with direct reports.
- Provides input to Sr. Engineer II-PEs and Director for setting technical direction for the Transmission Engineering department.
- Ensures engineering standards and technical direction adhered to by direct reports.
- Creates engineering designs as applicable and as needed.
- Reviews and approves/stamps engineering designs as applicable and as needed.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Represents the Transmission Engineering department in a professional manner to all internal teams, Distribution Cooperatives, Consultants, Suppliers, and all other External Entities.
- Delivers superior customer service to internal and external customers.
- The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, plus 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
