Head of Global Finance Operations

This position reports directly into the VP, Controller and will be responsible for the oversight of key global functions in Vantive's shared service centers in San Jose, Costa Rica; Warsaw, Poland; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role will have direct oversight of our global accounts payable function, global credit and collection function, and T&E teams and will be responsible for operational excellence and continuous improvement as Vantive moves to being a stand-alone organization. The position is expected to be based in Deerfield, IL or in proximity to the business service centers. Ths areas. The individual in this role will partner closely with other leaders in our Finance, Procurement, and Information Technology teams. The finance operations team is comprised of approximately 170 individuals primarily located in the business service centers along with retained local country resources supporting the finance operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Administer the operations of shared service centers including a relentless focus on continuous learning and support to the local site leads

2)Lead the operations of global accounts payable function, including relationship management with an outsourced service provider, including managing the global time and expense organization

3)Lead the operations of global credit and collections teams and provide financial oversight to accounts receivable balance

4) Bring forward and drive cost-savings initiatives and working capital (DPO and DSO) improvements, working cross-functionally with other leaders in finance and procurement

5)Drive compliance with internal controls performed by operational finance functions with a focus on continuous improvement

6)Build strong teams through motivation, direction, holding individuals accountable and providing challenging work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Skilled at assembling and managing both ongoing staff as well as cross-functional teams as required
  • Decisive leadership, with ability to generate ideas, develop alternatives, rapidly decide upon best course of action and drive implementation of that decision
  • Strong coaching skills and effective at developing talent

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in finance / accounting is required
  • MBA, CPA, and/or Six Sigma Certification is strongly desirable
  • Demonstration of key finance competencies and qualifications and typically 12 or more years of experience.
  • Experience leading an operational finance function that includes international teams is desirable

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $176,000 to $264,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
